The Veles high school – is considered the oldest gymnasium school in Macedonia dating from 1857/58, known as the main school, but also under the name Trade School, as it was studied and the knowledge of the trade profession. The school building of the Veles High School opened the faculty educated Serbian teacher John Neskovic (finished philosophical and legal sciences in Pest, where he was born), who, upon the invitation of the eastern Veles church municipality, came to the chief teacher in Veles and set the basics of The first major Macedonian school. In the year, the school was attended by 40 students. Until the beginning of the twenties of ⅹⅹ c. The school was in the rank of a nine gymnasium (Progonomic), organized in 2, 3 or 4 class (depending on the personnel and other conditions). Full gymnasium (eighth) became in the academic year 1921/22, when a total of 362 students were covered in all eight class. From the school year 1929/30, due to the restrictive measures of the then ruling Serb circles, it was again reduced to a high school. From the school year 1932/33 It develops as a self-government institution (not financed by the state budget). How full high school is working again from the school year 1936/37.
