Lakes. There are over 160 lakes in the Republic of Macedonia. From them naturally, more than 50 are created, and others represent artificial reservoirs. According to the way the occurrence of the lake pools, they are divided into: tectonic, urban, coastal or coastal, karst, organogenous and artificial Akarnan Mountain Lake Lokuv of Mount Deshat (1,565 m) mulations. After their significance, tectonic lakes emphasize, such as: Ohrid, Prespa and Dojran Lake. Natural post-signal lakes are shared on erosive, accumulative and combined. Of these, they are more important: the Bogovin Lake, the Great and Little Pelister Lake, Black Lake, Karanikolika Lake, Podgorica Lake, etc. The lowest mountain lake is at a height of 1,565 m (Lake Lokuv of Mount Deshat), and the highest of 2,470 m (Lake Greater Korab on Mount Korab). For now, the only example of the Urenes Type Lakes is the Mokliko Lake, which is emerged in the valley of the Vatal River, by destroying one of the valley and the partition of the river valley. The only example of the coastal-source type lakes in our country is Lake Island in the monastery “St. Naum”. Organogenic lakes are stored on small and limited surfaces in swampy terrains. They are created with sedimentation of organic matter when destroying the former lakes. In the past, there were more, and today more significant are: blue Viroi, Novoselski Vir 1, Novoselski Vir 2 (in the basin of R. Satska), in Debarca and elsewhere.
