The climate in Macedonia

The climate in Macedonia. In the Republic of Macedonia, maritime and continental climate impacts are intertwine and the mild Mediterranean with a sharp continental climate is collided in a very specific way. Maritime influences cause dry and warm summer, and continental impacts cold and humid winter. Therefore, several characteristic climate regions are allocated: Submediran, region with pronounced transflation of the Mediterranean and continental climate, region with continental climate and a region with a mountain climate. The sub-Mediterranean region covers: Gevgelija-Valandovo and Dojran valley, where the Mediterranean climatic influences are strongest. In it, in separate years, Mediterranean influences are suppressed, but also vice versa, there are years when the Mediterranean influences feel along the valley of the river Vardar to Skopje, along the valley of the river Bregalnica to Kocani and the valley of the Strumica River in the Strumica-Radovis valley. The region of represented translation of the continental and the Mediterranean climate covers the Tikvesh, the Veles and the Skopje valley, Ovce Pole, Stip and Kocanska valley, the valley of the river Vardar, Strumica-Radovis valley and the valley of the River Drim in the Debar valley. In the north along the valley of the river Vardar Climate Impact quickly weakens. The region of the continental climate is mostly felt in the Prespa and Ohrid-Struga valley (where the impact of the lake basin), the Kicevo, the Berovo-Delceva, the Slavic, the Polog and Pelagonia valley. The region of the mountain climate occupies the high mountains of the Sharski and the Korab Mountain System, Jablanica, Grandma, Jakupica and all other high mountains in the Republic of Macedonia. In them, over 2,200 m, there is a real mountain climate or the so-called Alpine climate. Unlike it, in all the mountains below 1,000 m asg, which are determined as low mountains, it rules transitional, from Cottlin in the mountainous climate.
