Jablanica – high mountain in the southwestern part of the Republic of Macedonia. It is located between the Ohrid-Struga and the Debar valley, west of the Valley of Black Drim and the shores of Ohrid Lake. The Republic of Macedonia belongs to the eastern mountain sides, and the western of the Republic of Albania. It extends in the meridian direction in the length of 35 km, and the largest width in our country is 7.5 km. Our territory occupies 25 km. Jablanica is a Venich mountain formed with oligomiocial tectonic movements. The geological composition is represented by Paleozoic shales in the slope, and through them, Triasian limestones lie through them. In the relief of Jablanica, high mountain peaks, spacious surfaces, deep river valleys, karst and fossil glacial shapes are dominated. The highest peak is black stone (2,257 m), and there are several peaks higher than 2,000 m as: a strain (2,233 m), Krstec (2,186 m), a chimine peak (2,125 m), etc. Fossil glacial shapes are represented by five cirts in which four glacial lakes are located.
