Drimkol -. (From Drim and Tour. Cole: Square army or guard; Zupa) – Survey in the southwestern part of the Republic of Macedonia, on the border with Albania. It extends westward from the River Black Drim, along the eastern sides of the Jablanica Mountain. In the south reaches the shores of Ohrid Lake, and north to Debar Zhu-Well. It is divided into Struga Drimkol to the south and Debar Drimkol to the north. Struga Drimkol is larger and spread on part of the Struga field, and Debar Drimkol is a mountain-hilly end. In addition to the eastern periphery of the two Drimola leads a regional road connecting the landscape to the north with Debar and south with Struga. In the West, from Struga through Kafasan, leads an international road connecting D. with Albania. Two artificial reservoirs, Globocica and Spilje were built in the Drimkolic Klosura, on which two power plants were raised. In the village of lubbing, coal with reserves of about 3.5 million tons and it is exploited. In D. There are 23 villages, of which 16 are in Struga, and 7 in Debar Drimkol. Mainly administrative and economic center of D. is Struga. The largest village is Labunishta, with 5,936 h. (2002), while the village of Vevcani is an independent municipality. The population is compiled by Macedonians, Macedonians Muslims (Torbeshi) and Albanians, which are divided into Geghi and Toski. The main occupation of Drumcolcs in the Struga field is agriculture, and in Jablanical villages livestock breeding. An important part of the population is departed on temporary work abroad. Lit.: M.
