Trifunoski, John (v. Vrutok, 23. ⅸ 1914 – Belgrade, 2002) – Geography, UNIV. Professor. He finished elementary education in the village. Vrutok, and a gymnasium in Skopje and Tetovo. He enrolled at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje (1935), where he and graduated (1939). He was elected (1940) for an assistant in the geographical office at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. From 1941 to 1946 He lived in Belgrade, where until 1943. He worked as an assistant at the Geographical Institute, and then he was a professor at a gymnasium. In 1946 He is admitted to the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Skopje, where he works as an assistant at the Department of Geography (until 1950). He received his PhD in Sanu in Belgrade (1950), and then he was elected for assistant (1951), for extraordinary (1959) and a full-time professor (1969). He taught regional geography and anthropogelography. After retiring (1979), until the end of life he lives in Belgrade. The majority of the scientific and research work is in the area of geography of the population and settlements. One is of the most fertile Macedonian geographers; He studied and wrote anthropogoographic studies for more our valleys and cities.
