Svto Transfiguration

“Svto Transfiguration” – Monastery Church in the village. Zrze (Prilep). The complex consists of a central one-aisled church with a semicolon vault, “St. Transfiguration, “Church” St. Peter and Paul, “external department on the west side and the construction of the Church on the south side. The aforementioned churches that make up the complex originate from different time periods. The oldest, “St. Transfiguration, “according to the preserved inscription, was built with commitment and assets of the monk German, at the time of the reign of King Dusan (middle of ⅹⅳ c.). Later, at the time of the reign of King Volkashin, the birth of the monastery took over the grandchildren of the monk Herman, Metropolitan John-Zograf and his brother Heromonk Macarius. Not being able to support the monastery, after the capture of these ends by the Ottomans (about 1400 years), the brothers departed the monastery of their Konstantin and his sons (James, Kaloyan and Dimitar). They contributed to the re-monastery church “St. Transfiguration, “s. Zrze, Prilep (ⅹⅳ c.) Then there were several great throne icons, the work of the Metropolitan John-Zograf and the Jeromonk Macarius. In the first half of ⅹⅴⅰ c. Construction works were taken to repair certain damages, whereby the old church was again painted. In ⅹⅴⅰⅰ c. From the north side of the Church, a new church was added, dedicated to St. Peter and Paul. The old church was painted in 1369, with the assets of the sons of Hejko (Pribil and Prief) and their mother. In literature there is the view that behind the names of Privi and the gathered grandchildren of the monk German, Metropolitan John-Zograf and his brother Jeromonk Macarius.
