“St. Nikita” – a monastery church near the village. Banjani (Skopje). In an older cult place in 1307-1308, and according to the latest research in 1319-1320, with the General of Serbian King Milutin, a church was built, which has a form of inscribed cross in a rectangular space, with a dome on a high tambour. It is built of carved stone, brick and mortar. The keramoplastic decoration of the facades is particularly represented when shaping the altar apse. From the south side of the church, a chapel, who was later demolished. The fresco painting in the interior is well preserved. The monastery church “St. Nikita “, s. Banjani (ⅹⅳ c.) On the shield of St. Theodore Tyrone, painted in the first zone, remained preserved signatures of the two famous medieval painters Mikhail and Eutychius. These are the painters that in 1295 They worked the fresco painting in the church “Virgin Peribleptos” (“St. Clement” in Ohrid, and in 1317. The great ensemble of paintings in the church “St. George “in the village. Staro Nagorichane (Kumanovo). Fresco painting in the church “St. Nikita, “with its rich iconographic repertoire and high art values is a significant work in medieval art in Macedonia. Among the painted saints in full growth, from the first zone, special attention attracts the figure of the patron of the church of Sts. Nikita, represented in panning clothing, with a spear in the right and arch for arrows in the left hand. From its right side, as a warrior in Pan-Cir and full armament, St. George, and on the left side of Sts. Stefan first-speaker. And from severe bodily illness, but all-fresco: “The rejection of the traders from the temple” in the church “St. Nikita “, s. Banjani, Skopje (ⅹⅳ c.) In the second zone, the compositions of the temple and wedding in Cana of Galilee are especially impressive, and in the third zone the scenes of the sufferings of Christ (the disposal of Christ from the cross and the burial of Christ). The painting of the two famous painters, compared to the NLA in the church “Virgin Peribleptos” in Ohrid, shows the development phase in the work of the famous painters, in which the narrative character of painted characters and compositions prevails.
