Subotic, Gojko

Subotic, Gojko (Bosnian Gradiska, 11. 1931) – art historian, academician, member of the MANA outside the working composition and one of the most important studies of the monuments of the Middle Ages and the period of Turkish rule in Macedonia. Almost half of his opus is with the topic associated with the vividness of the Byzantine style in Macedonian monuments. In the work, the Ohrid Ohrid Picture School from the ⅹⅴ century has analyzed all painting ensembles on a Macedonian terrain, as well as in Bulgaria and Greece, which he thinks belonging to the Ohrid School of ⅹⅴ c., Which significantly enriches our knowledge about this little studied Period of art in Macedonia. The book falls between the most direct studies for this period in the world. Also, the book of St. Constantine and Jelena U Ohridu is the first and only monograph of this important temple in the Ohrid Middle Ages. He dealt with the study of the frescoes and architecture of several temples in western and northern Macedonia.
