Seismological Observatory – Department of PMF in Skopje, created for systematic monitoring of seismic activity in Macedonia. It is located on the slopes of Vodno, under construction since 1957, when the first instruments were mounted. Today, there is newer premises and modern analogue and digital instruments in several locations in Macedonia, which is computer-related to quickly localize the epicentral area and for information to the population. From the establishment, a “newsletter for the registered tremors” is issued, which is internationally accessible. The experience gained after the strong Skopje earthquake (1963) was later broadcast in other affected areas (Leskovac, Banja Luka, Montenegro). For its establishment merit there is D. Hadzievski, Head of 1961 to 1988 C. Ur. Logvi Sepula.
