Prespa-Pelagonia Orthodox Diocese of the MOC

Prespa-Pelagonia Orthodox Diocese of the MOC (1958) – based in Bitola. In the formation of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Ohridscitola Diocese was appointed. Bishop Clement, who was elected by 1977 in 1974. The diocese was renamed Prespa-Bitola. Since 1977 The diocese administered the Vicard Bishops Methodius, Angelary and Gorazd, and from 1979 Metropolitan Gavril. In 1981 The Metropolitan Peter was set at the head of Prespa-Bitola-Bitola. In 1994 The diocese was renamed Prespa-Pelagonia with four locations: Bitola, Prilep, Resen and Krusevo-Demir Hisar. The Prespa Lake in the diocese has about 300,000 believers, 600 churches, monasteries and chapels, with 100 clergy and 30 monks and nuns.
