Leeches

Leeches (chirudinea) – Ring worms with suckers. Inhabit aquatic or drying environments as predatory or parasites. About 500 species are known in the world. In Macedonia, 35 taxa (29 species and 6 subspecies) were registered, of which 11 are endemic, limited mainly on the Ohrid Lake. The most famous are: medical, fish and horse leech.
