Petkovski, Boris (Bajmok, 1931 – Skopje, 30 and 2005) – Art historian, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. He graduated from the art history of the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje (1956), Ph.D. at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade (1975) on the topic “The work of Nikola Martinoski 1903-1973”. It has a crucial impact on the development of fine criticism, science and theory in Macedonia and the affirmation of Macedonian fine art and culture in the world. Organized exhibitions, lectures and courses (Biennale in Venice, 1978; Paris, Rome, Naples, Halle, Tory, Belgrade, Sofia). The overall knowledge of the theory, the history of art and contemporary museology is embedded in the establishment and action of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, where he was the first director (1964-1976). He published 14 books, studies, essays and criticism of Macedonian and world art and culture.
