Zoological Institute – Scientific Research Institution within the Institute of Biology of the PMF in Skopje. The scientific research activity of the Zoological Institute takes place mainly in two directions: 1) Faunistic, zoouogographic, environmental and zototonological research of individual groups of animals; and 2) Histological, ie cytological research on certain organs in some animals, mainly vertebrates. It was set up in 1946. The teaching-scientific activity of the Office is organized in laboratories per cytology and histology, molecular biology, invertebrate, animal ecology with zoogeography, vertebrate and comparative anatomy. Eleven teachers and assistants and two labers work in the Office. D. PR.
