Tithes in New (Spailak) – a duty known from the time of the Ottoman Empire (until 1912), re-introduced in 1942. On the territory of the western part of Macedonia, occupied by the Italian army. Over the tithe, taxes were more closely charged by the government and provided a smooth supply of agricultural products to the Italian army. Gathered in kind and sold on auction.
