The Battle of Trajan’s Door

The battle at Trajan’s door (17. ⅷ 986) – a battle between the commanders of the Communications, the Brothers Samuel and Aaron, and the Byzantine army led by the Emperor Vasily ⅱ. It was played in the narrow in today’s Ihtiman, near Sofia. The Byzantines suffered a heavy defeat. Many soldiers were killed, and Vasily ⅱ barely managed to save themselves with escape, leaving the enemy the whole chamber with the imperial tent and wealth. Lit.: S.
