Monestries (ⅹⅴⅰⅰ c.) – Vindi family moved from Bitola in Rac Covin and then chambrella in Austria. Peter Monestoes received a noble title and back (1665). The most prominent member John, Oberknez, in the Battle of Slonmen (1691), was leading 10,000 soldiers “Chetka militia”. With Patriarch Arsenius, John in Vienna advocated protecting the interests of Orthodox. Adam Monsterlija, John’s son, died in the Austrian-Turkish War in 1717 Lit.: Dr. A.
