Mihajlovic, Joseph (village Tresonce, 28. 1887 – Skopje, 11. 1941) – Architect and urbanist. Mayor of Skopje since 1929, with a small break until 1941. He graduated from the architectural department of the Technical High School in Bel-City (1910). Studies in urbanism continued in England and the United States, where he worked as an architect for 10 years. In the Belgrade company “Phoenix” joined the construction of railroads Uzice – Sarajevo and Veles – Prilep. Since 1929 He was the president of the Skopje municipality, when the General Regulation Plan of Skopje was developed, adopted in 1930. He also dealt with architectural design. Knowledge. In the shaping of the building is inspired by the folk architecture. As the President of the Municipality, he undertook significant construction utility endeavors – construction of the thermal power plant and hydroelectric plant “Matka” of the Republic of Macedonia. More public buildings were built: schools, municipal buildings, National Bank, trade and industrial chamber, railway station, Banin (today Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia).
