Ilievski, Dimitar

Ilievski, Dimitar (Bitola, 21. IX 1953 – Himalaya, 10. ⅴ 1989) – Alpinist. Member of the Mountaineering Society “Pelister” in Bitola (from 1968), in which the alpine section was established. He won almost all the most important peaks in Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria, as well as the tops of the Alps: Mont Blanc (4,807 m), Mate-Horn (4,808 m) and Monte Rosa (1980). In South America, it climbed to the top of the Andes Huascaran (6,768 m) and Chypients (6,400 m) and Cordilla Blanka (1982), and in the USSR (1984) at the top of the PIC of Communism “Ilievski Dimitar Ilievski-Murato (7,495 m) both of the Shanjochoch (6400 m). He participated in the Macedonian Himalayan expedition “Manapa 86” and “Everest 89”, when with Stipe Christmas from Croatia and Viktor Grossel from Slovenia, they won Mount Everest (8,848 m).
