Greek Tenic Organization (August 1908) – Political Organization in Macedonia. Greek political clubs were established in the larger centers: Thessaloniki, Sir, Melnik, Demir Hisar (SKSKO), Kostur, Bitola and Strumica, with direct engagement of the Greek consuls and the clergy of the Constantinople Patriarchate. In addition to the clubs, there were also guild and charitable companies for expanding the organizational network for propaganda acting. The organization performed requests for confirming the privileges of the Patriarchate. The issue of a new administrative division according to the needs of the nationalities was mainly political request. Political action was anti-Macedonian oriented. Before the end of 1909 The Greek political organization began to act against the Young Turk power. In November, the authorities closed Greek political clubs and thus stopped the legal activity of the Greek political organization. The conspiracy action continued and the Adher armed troops were reactivated. Lit.: Manol Pandevski, political parties and organizations in Macedonia (1908-1912), Skopje, 1965. M. Min.
