Macedonians in the Greek uprising (1821) – since the beginning of the uprising Macedonians joined the fight of the Greek people for liberation. The number of Macedonians in the rebounding ranks increased after the suppression of the Negotive Uprising (1822). Some of the Macedonian participants suffered high military positions. Anastas from Pijanec received a senior military rank. The son of Angel Gaco, Mico, pointed out in military actions and reached high positions. Hadji Hristo and Koco John gave great contribution to the development of the Greek rebound cavalry. Many of the Macedonian participants in the uprising remained to carry out various official responsibilities in the Greek state.
