Women in NOVM (1941 – 1944) – Participation of women from all layers of Macedonian society as active participants and associates in the anti-fascist and national liberation struggle. About the first partisan units in 1941 And in the years, women worked massively on providing clothing and food, illegal shelters, carried out courier and reporting services, etc. Among the first hundred fighters in the NOB were 11 women. In military units, some of them performed the duties of political commissioners and members of the highest party and military leaders. At the first session of ASNOM (2. 1944), among 122 delegates, there were 6 women. The Declaration on the Basic Rights of the DFM citizen was legitimized and equality of women in the new state. Officially recognized participation in the NOB have a total of 5,752 women. Of these, about 300 were killed, Partizanka in the liberated Skopje (1944) 7 were declared folk heroes, and 141 woman is the bearer of a partisan memorial 1941.
