CASK, SEARNEY (Thetja at Krakow, Poland, 1948) – linguist, director of the press research center at the Institute for Journalism and Social Communication at the Jagellon University. He finished secondary studies (1971) and received his doctorate in the field of linguistics (1981). He worked at the Institute for Poland Philology at the same university (1971-1981), and then at the Polish Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Habilitated on the topic “Metatecst in Selected Works of Children’s Literature” at the Pedagogical University of Krakow (1991), he received a professorial title (2001) and was elected Associate Professor at the Jagellon University (2006), and then he was appointed director of The press center for the press at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication. He was a lecturer in Polish language at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius “in Skopje (1976-1979). Scientific interest is the linguistics of the text, semantics, linguistic pragmatic, the theory of discourse and media communication, with particular interest to the problem of the confrontative description of Polish versus the Macedonian language. He repeatedly participated in the Macedonian language seminar and literature in OH-Reed. For more than 30 years, it also deals with issues of the Macedonian language, literature and culture. BIB.
