Popovic, Janko

Popovic, Janko (Cinca Janko) (Ohrid, OK 1779 – Kyprija, 1833) – Duke in the first Serbian uprising. First arrived in Valevo (1800). Arrested by the Ottoman authorities, shortly spent in prison (January 1804). Once the first Serbian uprising erupted (1804), Janko Popovic joined J. Nonradovic. Stressing with unusual courage and courage, the leader of Karadjordje Petrovic produced him in Bimbasha. It was especially emphasized in the bitters of Mishar, when taking Belgrade, in the Loznica and Deligrad.
