Montale, Eugenio (Eugenio Montale) (Genoa, 12. ⅹ 1896 – Milan, 12. 1981). Together with Hungaryi, it is the most pronounced figure of Italian hermetism. He dealt with journalism intensively. He wrote literary and musical criticism. Lifelong was the Senator of Italy. The Mediterranean in his songs is raised to a symbol of humanistic civilization.
