Institute of Psychology .- Study group at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje (Department of Psychology, NSG for Psychology). The teaching-scientific activity began in 1974/75. Initially, holders of the teaching process are six teachers and associates: prof. Dr. Risto Gjorgjevski, Assoc. Dr Naum Todoroski, before. MSc Jacob Lazaroski and assistants MSc Nikoloski, Zoran Stojanovski and Mr. Olga Morjeva-Shkaric. In the past three decades, the founders of the Department of Psychology joined new associates, who, over time, were acquired with scientific and teaching titles. For the successful development of the Institute of Psychology in the years after the establishment, there are a number of teachers from other university centers in the then SFRY. The Institute of Psychology continuously cooperates with the Institute of Biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Psychiatric Clinic at the Medical Faculty in Skopje. Apart from undergraduate, the Institute is organized and postgraduate studies (specialist studies in school psychology, introduced in the academic year 2005/06 and Masters Degree, which exist for more than two decades (1980/81)). As of May 2006 1,275 students graduated at this Institute, and 20 people were acquired with the highest scientific title of psychological sciences. Since 2004, the studies of this institute (at the undergraduate and postgraduate level) are organized according to ECTS. In 1990 The Institute started working a laboratory for peace and intercultural education, which in 1993. It has grown into the Balkan Center for Peace Study. At that time, a psychological counseling center for youth in need of psychological help was opened. Since 1999, several years of the Institute of Psychology, there was a Center for Psychosocial and Crisis Action, aimed at improving the health of youth and intervening in crisis situations. Since February 2005 The Center for the preparation and application of psychometric tests started. The Institute also organized several scientific and professional gatherings: 25 years of the Institute of Psychology (1999), a hundred years of psychoanalysis exercises at the Institute of Physics (2000), for better status: strategies for promoting psychological practice (2000) and psychology and others areas (2004).
