At 3 km northeast of the village, at the entrance of the Derven gorge, between Polog and Skopje Pole, the low hill 80 m above the right bank of the R. Vardar is the remains of a transparent fortress. Findings (Silver Rome Republican denar, coins from ⅳ and ⅵ c. And Byzantine uranisis coins from ⅹ, ⅻ-ⅻ c., Like other archaeological findings) illuminate the time when the fortress existed – from the Republican period, through the early and late Roman period, as in the Middle Ages. Redges from arrows, bronze tag for control of gold and silver coins from late antiquity, bronze two-part mold for printing from pre-evil type, with an embraced figure of a mythological animal in a negative (ⅹ c.), Slav groovid stud, ring and part of bracelet (ⅹ-ⅻ c.). The top of the hill (450 m above the sea) has an elongated shape that was determined by a defensive wall with an area of 0.5 ha. The fortress protected the entrance and the road through the gorge. The 300 m southwest besides PA-TOT were the remnants of an ancient highest settlement. Lit.: V.
