Gilevski, Pascal

Gilevski, Pascal (Solem, Kostur, Aegean part of Macedonia, 1939) – poet, storyteller, novelist, essayist, critic, translator. He went through the exodus of refugee children after the civil war in Greece (1946-1949); He was educated in Hungary. In Skopje, he finished secondary school and philosophile faculty. He was director of the National and University Library – Skopje, chairman of the Council of Struga Poetry Evenings and President of the Federation of Literary Translators of Macedonia. He is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Works as an editor at the publishing house “Matica Makedonska”. Translates from Greek, French and Hungarian. He honored by the French government with the title of “Knight of Art and Literature”.
