Georgievski, Mihajlo

Georgievski, Mihajlo (village Blatec, Vinica, 7. 1940) – Literary historian, researcher of old manuscripts in Macedonia. After finishing secondary education, one year was a teacher in the village. Cera, Kocani. As a student in the third year, he was a teacher at the Gymnasium “Vanco Prke” in Vinica. After graduating from the Faculty of Philosophy (group for Macedonian language and literature of the peoples of the SFRY) in Skopje (1964), a year was a professor at the Naum Naumovski-Borce Gymnasium in Krushevo, and then one year was the improvement of the French language in France . After returning, he was employed in the NUB “Kliment Ohridski” in Skopje as an associate, senior expert associate (1973) and library adviser (1983) for the collection of rare library material (1968-1974) and for the handwritten collection (1974-2002). He received his doctorate at the Sarajevo University on the topic “The cultural-educational and political role of librarianship in Vardar Macedonia between the two world wars” (1982). He was elected for Senior Scientific Associate (1987). The last decade (until retirement) worked as a scientific adviser at the Institute of Old Slavic Culture-Prilep. As a member of VMRO-DPMNE, he was a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia (1998-2002).
