Dion – a world city of Macedonians in Pieria, at the foot of Olympus, the center of the religious and cultural life of Macedonia. King Archelaus and (413-399 G. Ex. HE) Here establishes maintenance of Olyim games. “The holy city” during the Romans has a greater significance than other cities in the area. The only city in Pieria mentioned in late antique sources.
