Declaration of the independence of the Republic of Macedonia. – Act enacted by the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia on 17. IX 1991 The declaration has a preamble and normative text of seven members. The preamble concluded the plebiscitiously expressed will of the citizens for a sovereign and independent Macedonian state, and in the normative text it concluded that the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia, in the referendum held at 8. IX 1991, expressed their will and gave their voice to Constituted RM as a sovereign and independent state, with the right to enter the Union of Sovereign States of Yugoslavia. The declaration determines the international subjectivity of the Macedonian state, with a more detailed indication of the principles of international politics and international relations, as well as the principles related to the care of the rights of the Macedonian minority in the neighboring countries.
