Civic schools -. Type of non-secondary schools in which practical knowledge about trade, industrial, craft and agricultural occupations were obtained. Among the two world wars in the Vardar part of Macedonia, almost in all cities. The first civic schools were opened in Kocani (1927/28), Berovo, Kratovo, Sveti Nikole and Kriva Palanka (all in 1928/29). The training lasted for 4 years, and students were received with completed fundamental four-year school. The completed students had limited opportunities for pro-debt education in the gymnasium and in some other high schools. Lit.: R.
