Archelaus ⅰ (Sharz … Laoz A; Archelaus and) (413-399 BC) – Macedonian king from the Argeadi dynasty; Perdicica’s son ⅱ. Implements military and monetary reform, the capital of Aiga, transmits strategic reasons to Pela; It builds a number of fortifications and roads. As a participant in the Peloponnesian war, he establishes friendly relations with Athens and gets the honorary Athens title – prohibited. They considered it “Barbarin” in relation to the Helleni (Trasimah) and therefore can not become a member of the Pelunicipal Union.
