Miljovski, Cyril (Resen, 27. ⅴ 1912 – Skopje, 27. ⅳ 1983) – Economist, UNIV. Professor, a scientific researcher, a society, diplomat, academician. Primary education ended in his hometown, secondary education in Ohrid and Bitola (1931), and graduated from the Veterinary Faculty at the University of Zagreb (1939). For a professor at the Agricultural and Forestry Faculty in Skopje he was elected in 1947, at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje in 1950, where he remains until retirement (1981). The undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje handed out the subjects political economy and the development of economic thought, and the postgraduate study “economic development and methods of economic analysis” taught matter in regional development and insufficiently developed areas. He performed significant and responsible socio-political functions: He was a participant in the NOB, member and Secretary of ASNOM, and then a member of the Presidium of ASNOM, the first president of the Planning Commission of the NRM, the Republic Public Prosecutor, Minister of Trade and Supply in the Government of Macedonia , First Rector of the University “St. Cyril and Methodius “in Skopje (in two terms), a regular member of MANU since its establishment (1967), secretary of the Department of Social Sciences and a member of the President of the MANU, Ambassador of SFRY to Denmark and Bulgaria, MP of SRM in the Federal Assembly, member of the Government of the Government of the SFRY. He was the founder and first editor-in-chief of the SP. “Economic review”, the first president of the scientific section of the Union of Economists of Yugoslavia, member of the Redocational Board of the SP. “Economist”, first editor-in-chief of “Attachments” of the Department of Social Sciences in MANU, editor-in-chief or member of the Editorial Boards of several other magazines (“Our newspaper”, “People’s Voice”, “Ilinden Road”, “Blesses of Zagoslavica”, etc.). He is the author of more than 170 scientific and professional papers – books, textbooks, scientific projects, monographs and articles published in numerous magazines in the SFRY. Under his leadership (mentor or member of a commission), many economists have acquired diplomas for a master’s degree or doctoral title. He was the head of numerous and significant scientific projects (or a member of working teams) from different domains. His scientific research work was realized in several areas of economic science and economic practice (economic theory, economic history, economic system and economic policy, economic development, regional development, population and workforce, development of economic thought, etc.), but also in Certain non-economic areas (national history of Macedonia, sociology, ethnology, culture, etc.). He contributed to the development of the disciplines he taught at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje, for the creation of highly professional and scientific personnel from the domain of the economy, to resolve numerous problems in the economy of the SRM and the SFRY, for the affirmation of the Macedonian nation and the statehood of Macedonia, for Macedonia, for The development and affirmation of MANU and the University, as well as at the Faculty of Economics in Skopje, and as one of the founders of economic science in Macedonia after the Second World War, it also contributed to the development of economic thought in our country.
