Migdony

Migdonia (IMGDONIA) – Ancient area in Lower Macedonia, inhabited by the Migdons tribe, called according to the eponymous hero Migdon. It stretched north parts of the Halkidik peninsula (around today’s Thessalonian Gulf), after the lower course of the r. Axius (Vardar) to Dojran Lake. The name was often used as a summary, for marking the areas of Krstonia, Bisalthia and Antamun. She was densely populated by developed city life. It included the cities: Thessalonica, Termah, Halia, Ematia, Aina, Sinthos, Halstras, etc. He first mentioned the Herodotus in telling the campaign of Xerada.
