Drenovo, Gradiste, ancearist

Drenovo, Gradiste, Acadarius (Acadarius) – Ancient city, one of the largest cities of the Kingdom of Paionia in the classical and in the Hellenic period. Paiona, Ericist (EURist) (identified according to Tab. Peut. Iv. 8; GeoGr. Rav. Iv. Locality Gradiste, under the village of Drenovo and above the so-called. Ranel or Drenovska Gorge. The hill south above the gorge is 60-140 m high, with long and close acropolis and long residential city terraces on the west and on the south side. The ancient road, coming from kelamony, passed around a plate, temple with a necropolis in the southwestern foot of the city, Stobi. The higher Western terrace scale is a semi-hardened early coastal suburb. The Roman necropolis extends on the slope of the adjacent Southwest hill to the Zaka Valvavica. Among the discovered remains of three Roman heroes, it stands out that of Valavica, the Tikvesh type, with architectural elements of high podium, sideboards and two-floor roof. City Agora is identified on the southwest rocky plane. In her Government – Devolgrad, with. Drenovo – The city ancearist from ancient time Ren part is the substructure of the city altar and the foundations of another city facility of stone architectural elements, with a podium and two-sensing roof segments of the inside, formed vault or, perhaps, from the city port. Movable findings from classical, Hellenistic, Roman times, from late antiquity and the Middle Ages. The southern part of the acropolis were found foundations of a small medieval church of XI c. From HE, it is also used in the Drenovo Church. The total urban area is 17 ha. The findings of Paionian coins, especially the last king-dropion, testify to the particularly important role of anticarist within Paionia. Lit.: I.
