Verevic, Paul (Ruma, 22. ⅷ 1881 – 17. Xi 1966) – Serbian geographer. Elementary school and high school finished in Novi Sad. Physical geography, geology and meteorology studied in Vienna, where after graduation defended the doctoral dissertation “Tisa – Potamine Study” (1904). After the invitation of John Zjic in 1907. It comes to Belgrade, where the Faculty of Philosophy was elected assistant on subjects climatology and meteorology. In 1919 He was elected as an associate professor, and 1921. for a full-time professor. He was the head of the Department of Meteorology of the PMF in a white city, manager of the Geographical Institute “Jovan Zvik” at Sanu, a regular member of SANU, an honorary doctor at the Vienna University and a lifelong honorary president of the Serbian geographical society. He published more significant scientific papers and university textbooks, mainly in the field of meteorology and hydrology. Some of them represent classical works in science. BIB.
