Vangelov, Atanas (village Bogdanci, Gevgelija, 6. 1946) – Writer – poet, storyteller, novelist, drama author, essayist, translator, publicist, scientist, university professor of literature. He graduated, a Master’s degree and received his doctorate at the Faculty of Philology in Skopje at the Department of Yugoslavastics. The topic of the Masters: Artism and Contemporary Macedonian Literature (1977), and the topic of the doctoral dissertation is: Semantic figures in the Macedonian folk poetry (1982). He is employed at the Faculty of Philology in Skopje as a full-time professor of theory of literature. He teaches more cases: New Croatian literature, stylistics, stylistics and rhetoric and history of Yugoslav literatures. Bill Procella and Dean of the Faculty of Philology in Skopje; He was chairman of the Council of Struga Poetry Evenings and MP in the National Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia (1994-1998), when he is a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. Since 2004 is the ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Hungary. He is a member of the Macedonian DPM since 1967. He stayed several times in France on study stay and as a Lecturer in Macedonian Language and Literature at the Paris University. For his merits in the spread of French culture in the Republic of Macedonia, he was honored (1995) of the French government with the Order of University Palmy Officer.
