Third Macedonian-Roman War

Third Macedonian-Roman war (171-168) – He led King Perseus (179-168), who created a strong coalition against Rome. He concluded an alliance with the Illyrians and the Thracians, arranged with the blades and the Badstaries to attack Italy from the north, attracted them in his part of the Rhodes and the democratic forces in Greece. He called them to return to the country and everyone who escaped or was expelled from Macedonia. Due to the Anti-Serbian activity of Perseus, the Roman Senate for the third time published a war of Macedonia. In the beginning, Perseus had success. In the decisive battle, close to the Macedonian city of Piden the third Macedonian National Liberation Brigade Brigade Pel catastrophic defeat (168). Romans, led by Consul Lucius Emily Pavel, surrounded the Macedonian army and almost completely destroyed it. Perseus was caught and along with the family taken into captivity in Rome. Lit.: N. D. L.
