Drainage systems in the Republic of Macedonia – cover 82,195 ha. The need for their construction was perceived long ago in several areas in Macedonia. The first things began in the Skopje field, in 1929, and intensively continued in 1959 (6,600 ha) Mr. In the same period, the work of drainage of Pelagonija (54.150 ha) and the Strumica Field (9,000 ha) were intensified. In addition to these, systems in Struga Pole (2,680 ha), Ovce Pole (1,700 ha), Prespa Field (1,800 ha) and in the HMS Bregalnica (6,000 ha) were built. The current state of drainage systems requires intensive maintenance, reconstruction and rehabilitation activities, as well as the extension of the detailed drainage network. ST. DOD.
