Student homes – Social-pedagogical institutions that provide accommodation, nutrition, learning, health care, cultural and entertaining and recreational life of students at the time of regular study. The first student dormitory is opened in Skopje, with the Decree of the Government of NRM (1949). According to the Law on Student and Student Standard (1998), student dormitories are established by the student standard. Two or more student dormitories, restaurants, health and other institutions of the student standard can form a student center. The Law Center for Student Centers was passed in 1968. Student homes can be public and private institutions. The organization, lifestyle and conditions for the receipt of students are regulated by special rulebooks. The jurisdiction of public student dormitories and centers has the Ministry of Education and Science. Student Homes There are in the places where there are high-performance institution “Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu” in Skopje: in Skopje (Student Center, established in 1963), Bitola, Stip, Ohrid, Prilep and Tetovo. The admission to the home is conditioned by the social (material) student status and success in studying. The cost of holding the home participates students with their own funds, and partly covered by the state budget.
