Stankovic, Sinisa, 26. 1892 – Belgrade, 24. 1974) – Serbian biologist, regular member of Sanu and Jesus, correspondent member of the Academy in Nancy and Masarika Academy in Prague and a member of MANA outside the working composition (25 . Ⅹⅰⅰ 1969), the founder of ecology and lynology in the Republic of Macedonia. He studied at the Belgrade University and Grenoble (France), where he defended his doctoral dissertation. All degrees of university career, from an assistant (1921) to a full-time professor (1934) spent at the Belgrade University. As an anti-fascist, he was arrested and conducted in the Banjica camp (1941-1943), and after the successful escape he was elected a member of Serbia’s main NORO. But he was again arrested and conducted in the same camp (1943-1944). He was chairman of the City Board of the Single National Liberation Front of Belgrade, president of the Presidium of ASNOS and the National Assembly of the People’s Republic of Serbia (1944-1953). He was chairman of the Council of the academies of the SFRY and director of the Biological Institute of SR Serbia. It has a significant contribution to the study of the wildlife in the Ohrid Lake and founded the Hydrobiological Station in Ohrid (1935), which after the release turned into a hydrobiological office.
