Socialist Party of Macedonia – a political party, founded on 14. ⅸ 1990. In the first parliamentary composition (1990-1994) there were four lawmakers in the second (1994-1999) six, in the third (1998 -2002) and in the fourth (2002-2006) per MP and in the fifth parliamentary composition (2006-2008) three MPs. The SPM was part of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia from 1994 to 1998, in the period of the broad coalition (2001-2002), as well as since 2006. The first president of the SPM was Kiro Popovski (1990-1996), and Second Ljubisa Ivanov (since 1996).
