Shemov, Simon

Semov, Simon (Kavadarci, 1. ⅹⅰⅰ 1941) – Painter and graphic artist, one of the first researchers of alternative guidance in fine arts (1973), with a commitment to expanding and interweaving the media. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade (1964). Full professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje. He affirmed Macedonian art and outside the state. Interesting for natural phenomena is present in painting, graphics, installations, facilities, interventions in natural and urban space and especially in the works of handmade paper (pantheist, 1967; children’s games, 1972; the Angels cycle, 1990; Forest, 2003).
