Shandanov, Peter (Ohrid, 4. ⅶ 1895 – Sofia, 15. ⅹ 1971) – Head of VMRO. He was educated in Ohrid and Bitola. Participant in the First Balkan War, in the Ohrid Uprising (1913), fought in the Duke of Duke Petar Chaulev. In VMRO he was a reserve member of the VMRO Central (1925-1928), and after the murder of A. Protogerov (1928) and after the splice of the organization, became the leader of the Protogutical VMRO. Before the Second World War he joined the anti-fascist front of Bulgaria, and after the war he was one of the heads of the Union of Macedonian Emigration Companies in Sofia. In 1944 He was a delegate of the second session of ASNOM and elected a member of the Presidium of the National Assembly of Macedonia. Due to participation in the Macedonian liberation movement, it was convicted and imprisoned by the Bulgarian authorities (1936 and 1953). Lit.: Petar Shandanov, memories.
