Selim and (Amazia, 1470 – shrub, 22. ⅸ 1520) – Ninth Osmanli Sultan. Ruled Macedonia 8 years (25. ⅳ 1512 – 18. ⅷ 1520). He was one of the biggest Ottoman invaders, intolerant to other religions: many churches turned into mosques, including churches “St. Sophia” and “St. Clement” in Ohrid, and destroyed the monastery “St. John Bigorski”.
