Selim Giraj (1634 – 1704) – one of the largest Crimean Hans, known as Hadzi Gazi Selim Giraj I. Four times he sat on the throne and ruled a total of 23 years. He wrote poetry in Turkish, and was also known as the protector of one of the largest Turkish composers of that time Itri. He suffocated the Karposo Uprising in Macedonia (1689) and after his order in Skopje, the leader Karposh was executed.
