Scalovski, Todor (Tetovo, 21. and 1909 – Skopje, 1. ⅶ 2003) – Composer and conductor. One of the most prominent representatives of the first generation of Macedonian composers. It started its activity in the field of music immediately after schooling in a white city (among professors K. Manojlovic, M. Milevic and J. Slavenese). He worked as a teacher and conductor, and he gave himself in the scream music culture after the war, when he participated in the formation and work of key music institutions in Macedonia. In his home, at the end of 1944, the founding meeting of the first symphony orchestra was held, from which later (1950) the Macedonian Philharmonic. He is his first conductor. In 1947 He was appointed first director and conductor of the newly formed opera. At the same time, he participated in the establishment of the Company of Musicians of Macedonia (later SOKOM and the SLAP). Since 1975 He became a regular member of MANU. He is the author of several tens of compositions, mainly choral, but also instrumental – chamber, solo and, to a lesser extent, orchestral. The highest achievements accomplished in the field of choral music (“Macedonian Oro”, 1943; “Velochani Cyrillille and Methodiu” IDR.).
