Psychology in Macedonia – Science that studies the behavior and mental content of the person. In Macedonia, the scientific study of psychology, with rare exceptions, begins with the establishment of the Institute of Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje (1974), which over time developed in a respectable center for performing scientific research in several psychological disciplines. His head was prof. Dr. Risto Gjorgjevski (c.), and his deputy was Assoc. Dr Naum Todoroski. For the development of psychology in Macedonia, a number of teachers from other university centers of the then SFRY are deserved: Dr. Predrag Ognjovic (c.), Dr. Aleksandar Wrovic (c.), Dr. Josip Berger (c.) By Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, Dr. Ante Fulgazi from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, Dr. Miklos Bureau of the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad and Dr. Vladimir Nešić from the Faculty of Philosophy in Nis. At the Institute of Psychology, except undergraduate studies, postgraduate and doctoral studies are organized. Postgraduate studies consist of specialist studies in school psychology (introduced in the academic year 2005/06) and MSc with six guidelines (General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Psychology of Personality, Social Psychology, Pedagogical Psychology and Psychology of Labor), which exist from The school year 1980/81 In addition to the teaching activity, the Institute also takes place of other activities (research, application and some forms of immediate provision of psychosocial assistance and support), which are realized through: laboratory for peace and intercultural education (established in the early 1990s, and What has grown into the Balkan Center for the Study of Peace (1993)), a psychological counseling for people in need of psychological assistance, Center for Psychosocial and Crisis Action (since 1999) intended for the promotion of young people and intervening in crisis situations and center For the preparation and application of tests – Psychometric.
