NATO peacekeeping missions in the Republic of Macedonia – a total of 3 missions: “essential harvest”, positioned at the invitation of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO (from President Trajkovski (14. ⅵ 2001) to the Secretary General of NATO George Robertson) at 22. ⅷ 2001. With the mandate the collection of voluntarily delivered weapons and ammunition from Albanian extremit groups and its destruction, without the possibility of its violent seizure. This mission is not an operation in terms of separating warring parties, but in the function of maintaining and promoting the established peace. It consists of 4,500 troops, most of the Britain under the operational command of Danish General Lange (previously senior NATO military representative in the Republic of Macedonia), from the main brigade headquarters near Skopje. The official end of the mission is 26. ⅸ 2001; “Amber fox”, positioned at the invitation of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO (from President Trajkovski (18. ⅸ 2001) to Robertson), on 27. ⅸ 2001. With the mandate providing additional security of international observers that oversee the implementation of the Framework Agreement and the return of Macedonian security forces to territories that are not previously under their control, on the basis of a decision of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia (27. ⅸ 2001). The mission counts 1000 troops under the command of Generals Kerl (Germany), Harm de (Netherlands), Cartero (Spain), Royalty (Italy), from the headquarters in Skopje. Official end of the mission is 14. ⅹⅰⅰ 2002; “Allied harmony”, positioned just like the previous two to 16. ⅹⅰⅰ 2002, with a mandate with operational and advisory elements characteristic of the second mission, officially completed at 31. ⅲ 2003, i.e. The military part is left to the EU mission – “Concordia”.
